Rules.

Safe first. Fun always.

Clay shooting has an excellent safety record because everyone follows the same simple rules. You don't need to memorise them before your first visit. A club member will walk you through everything, but here's what to expect.

The Golden Rules:

Guns stay open and unloaded until you're at the firing point and it's your turn. Open any gun straight away when you take it from a rack or vehicle, to check it's empty.

Only shoot at the firing point, and only at legitimate clay targets.

Keep your gun open until the result is called. After you fire, open it straight away, and don't turn around or move until it is open.

Misfire or malfunction? Keep the gun pointed down the range at the traphouse and wait for the referee. Don't touch the action.

Unload on the red signal from the traphouse, or whenever an official walks out to it.

Stay behind the line. Keep your gun open until everyone on the shooting tracks has moved back to your mark or further.
